Dangerous Goods Advisory Council
The Dangerous Goods Advisory Council, which was incorporated in 1978, is an international, non-profit, educational organization dedicated to the promotion of the safe transportation of hazardous materials/dangerous goods.
DGAC and its staff accomplish this goal by providing education, assistance, and information to the private and public sectors through our unique status with regulatory bodies and through the diversity and technical strengths of our membership. We are an international, educational, nonprofit membership organization representing shippers of varying sizes, carriers of all modes, container manufacturers and reconditioners, as well as emergency response and waste clean-up companies. Committee and Board Meetings are open to employees of all member companies.
DGAC promotes the safe transportation of hazardous materials/dangerous goods globally by providing education, assistance and information to the private and public sectors, through our unique status with regulatory bodies, and the diversity and technical strengths of our membership.
DGAC will be recognized by our membership, our students, the regulated community at large and regulatory authorities as:
- An effective advocate for responsible regulation of hazardous materials/dangerous goods through consensus building within the regulated community and through the education of public officials responsible for development of regulations;
- A strong and influential advocate for global hazardous materials/dangerous goods transportation safety; and
- The premier provider of quality training for the transportation of hazardous materials/dangerous goods.
