Hazardous Materials Response Coordinator and Equipment Manager

Position Title: Hazardous Materials Response Coordinator and Equipment Manager
Location: Naval Support Activity Bahrain Emergency Management Office
Salary Range: $81,000 - $83,000
Hiring Timeline: Report to Bahrain on or about 30 November 2007.
Compensation Package Includes: Payment of 65% of monthly health insurance premium, relocation allowance, 20 days annual vacation, contract related educational assistance.

Position Description: Responsible for the oversight and coordination of the Naval Support Activity Bahrain, Emergency Management Office, Emergency Response Team (ERT), Hazardous Materials Element operational readiness program. Designated as an Emergency Essential Civilian Contractor.

Specific roles and responsibilities include:

Hazardous materials/CBR defense subject matter expert; CBR detection instrumentation and sampling training and PMCS; provide hazardous materials awareness, operations, and technician level training IAW NFPA 471/472; assist with preparing for inspections, assessments, visits, and other related events; primary manager of all CBR detection, identification, and sampling equipment to include assisting the Logistics Supervisor in maintenance management and inventory requirements; serve as the alternate respiratory protection program manager; write hazardous materials response related Standing Operating Procedures; research analysis for the procurement of related equipment; prepare, package, coordinate the shipment of, and receive CBR instrumentation; develop hazardous material response related exercise scenarios; serve as alternate mask fit testing and documentation manager.

Special Qualifications: Minimum 3 years experience in hazardous materials response operations (NFPA 471/472 & 29 Code of Federal regulations 1910.120) with instructional qualifications. Must be certificated in Hazardous Materials Awareness, Operations, and Technician Level competencies. Must possess or be eligible to acquire a Secret security clearance.
